VIOLENCE THRIVES IN DARKNESS.

Let there be light.

Mapping animal exploitation and building a people-powered movement for transparency.

When we realized that information about where facilities where animals are exploited and abused was being hidden from the public- and that almost no one knew why- we realized that where our government and courts had failed, we had to take matters into our own hands.

Our “why”

The more the landscape of animal agriculture in America is brought into the open, the more people will realize that the time for a social and political revolution is now. It’s been too easy for the industry to hide the truth for too long. When people can see with their own eyes, they understand in a way that words or numbers could never express.

It’s up to us

Ordinary citizens across the country are standing up to speciesist injustice, and we’re helping them do that by providing a one-of-its-kind resource they can use to plan actions, do advocacy, and educate the public. And they’re also helping us- the project relies on the power of crowdsourcing to succeed where the government has failed, and put the real scope and gravity of animal agriculture literally and figuratively on the map.

Interested in organizing others to contribute to the map? Become a small group leader

Wonder if you’ve got what it takes to be a leader in the transparency movement? Check out these tips from a current small group leader on the basics.

It is important to find the best pitch and story to tell to increase interest. Be sure to always include links, especially the map itself and how to identify farms, in that first pitch to everyone it’s sent to. Whether you know hundreds of activists or none, reach out to every one you can, including every group you can find. Connect with people, get them familiar and up to speed at adding farms quickly, and help them find their intentions. Quite often, people enjoy adding farms closest to where they live.

To help maintain longevity, you may consider gamifying your progress among your groupmates to help increase pace or total number of farms inputted. If you are in relevant group chats, it is important to reach out to them as it will notify most members. Encourage exploration of data, papertrail, and especially encourage suggestions that can be made to benefit your team or suggestions to help Counterglow.

Papertrail is a forum where animal rights activists can communicate, collaborate, and network with one another to be as effective as possible in their work towards animal liberation. It is a one-stop-shop where in time you will be able to find all of a violent industry’s untold secrets and learn what you can do to help.
